Case Study #2 Project Documentation for Health Dashboard using VBCS

This document outlines the development and design of a Health Dashboard application built using Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS). The main objective of the dashboard is to provide users with a holistic view of their health-related data, facilitating the monitoring of key health metrics like activity levels, nutrition, and medical records. Users can easily navigate between various sections such as Dashboard, Health Metrics, and Activity Calendar.

The application has been designed with an emphasis on user experience, making it easy to navigate and visually appealing across devices.

Technologies Used:

  • Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS)
  • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for backend integration
  • HTML/CSS for custom layout and styling

Layout Design

Overview: The Health Dashboard is structured into two main areas:

  1. Left-side Navigation: A fixed navigation bar that offers quick access to the main sections of the dashboard.
  2. Right-side Content Area: Displays health data visualizations like activity charts, BMI Calculations, and medical history.

Visual Structure:
Left-side Navigation:

  • Includes links to key sections: Dashboard, Health Metrics, and Activity Calendar.

Right-side Content:

  • Presents important health information in an organized manner: Activity Growth: Displays data related to daily physical activity and progress.
  • Blood Related Summaries: Provides insights into daily caloric intake and nutritional balance.
  • Physical Health Records: Allows users to view and manage their medical history.

The leftside navigation remains fixed for easy access, while the content on the right dynamically updates depending on the selected section.

Design and Functionality Highlights

  • Responsive Design: The application adjusts seamlessly to different screen sizes, ensuring a consistent user experience across devices.
  • Charts and Graphs: Visual representation of health data for a better understanding of user metrics.
  • Fixed Navigation: Ensures the left-side navigation stays accessible while browsing different sections, without needing to scroll back.

Backend and Data Flow

  • Integration with OIC: The dashboard fetches real-time health data through Oracle Integration Cloud services. These services ensure that all user information is securely transferred and updated.
  • API Integration: APIs are used to retrieve data from connected devices or health tracking systems to populate charts and summaries.

Conclusion

The Health Dashboard provides a comprehensive platform for users to track their health metrics, access medical information, and monitor their progress over time. It is designed to be intuitive, visually engaging, and highly functional, making it a valuable tool for health monitoring and management.
