Grafana Consulting & Support

Build a powerful open-source observability stack with Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Mimir — designed, deployed, and optimized by Nextbrick's observability engineers.

Overview

Grafana has become the de facto standard for observability visualization, powering dashboards and alerting across metrics, logs, and traces for thousands of organizations worldwide. Whether deployed as the open-source Grafana server or consumed through Grafana Cloud, the platform offers unmatched flexibility in connecting to diverse data sources and building unified operational views. Combined with Loki for logs, Tempo for traces, and Mimir for scalable metrics storage, the Grafana LGTM stack delivers enterprise-grade observability without vendor lock-in.

Nextbrick is a specialized Grafana consulting partner that helps enterprises design, deploy, and optimize Grafana-based observability platforms. Our engineers bring deep hands-on experience with the full Grafana ecosystem including Grafana Cloud, self-hosted Grafana Enterprise, and the open-source LGTM stack. From greenfield deployments to complex migrations from commercial monitoring tools, Nextbrick delivers observability solutions that scale with your infrastructure and empower every team with the data they need.

Grafana Dashboards and Visualization

Dashboards are the primary interface between your telemetry data and the humans who act on it. Nextbrick designs custom Grafana dashboards that serve distinct audiences: SRE teams monitoring real-time system health, engineering teams tracking deployment impact, and business stakeholders reviewing application KPIs. We build panels using Grafana's full visualization library including time series, stat panels, heatmaps, geomap, logs, traces, and table panels.

Our dashboard practice includes template variables for environment and service filtering, annotation overlays for deployments and incidents, and linked dashboards that enable seamless drill-down from high-level overviews to granular resource views. We establish dashboard-as-code workflows using Grafana Terraform provider or Grafonnet to version-control dashboard definitions and promote them through staging and production environments with CI/CD pipelines.

Grafana Cloud

For organizations that prefer a fully managed observability experience, Grafana Cloud eliminates the operational burden of running and scaling observability infrastructure. Nextbrick accelerates Grafana Cloud adoption by configuring Grafana Agent or Alloy for metrics, logs, and trace collection, setting up cloud integrations for AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes, and designing alerting and notification policies that integrate with PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Slack, and email.

We help organizations right-size their Grafana Cloud plans, configure usage limits and billing alerts, and optimize data ingest to control costs. Our engineers implement Adaptive Metrics and log sampling strategies that reduce telemetry volume without sacrificing the visibility teams need during incidents.

Loki for Log Aggregation

Grafana Loki provides a horizontally scalable, highly available log aggregation system that indexes only metadata labels rather than the full text of log lines, resulting in dramatically lower storage costs compared to traditional log management platforms. Nextbrick deploys Loki in single-binary, microservices, or simple-scalable modes depending on your ingest volume and query patterns.

We configure Promtail, Grafana Agent, and Fluentd to ship logs from applications, infrastructure, and Kubernetes environments to Loki with consistent label taxonomies. Our engineers write LogQL queries and build Grafana dashboards that correlate log events with metrics and traces, enabling teams to move from an alert to the relevant log context in seconds. We implement multi-tenant configurations, retention policies, and object storage backends on S3, GCS, or Azure Blob Storage for cost-effective long-term log retention.

Tempo for Distributed Tracing

Grafana Tempo is a high-scale, cost-efficient distributed tracing backend that integrates natively with Grafana for trace visualization and exploration. Nextbrick deploys Tempo to ingest traces from OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, and Zipkin instrumentation and configures trace-to-logs and trace-to-metrics correlations in Grafana that accelerate root cause analysis during incidents.

Our Tempo implementations include span filtering, service graph generation, and TraceQL queries that let engineers search traces by attributes, duration, and status code. We design storage backends on object storage for cost efficiency and configure retention policies that balance investigative needs with budget constraints.

Mimir for Scalable Metrics

Grafana Mimir provides horizontally scalable, long-term storage for Prometheus metrics with a fully Prometheus-compatible query API. Nextbrick deploys Mimir for organizations that have outgrown single-instance Prometheus or need multi-tenant metrics storage across teams and environments. We configure Mimir's ingester, distributor, compactor, and querier components for high availability, design tenant isolation policies, and optimize query performance with query sharding and caching.

For organizations running Cortex, we provide migration paths to Mimir that preserve existing data and dashboards while delivering improved performance and operational simplicity.

Alerting and Data Source Integration

Grafana's unified alerting engine supports multi-data-source alert rules, notification policies, and silencing workflows. Nextbrick configures alert rules across Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch, and other data sources to provide correlated alerting that reduces noise and directs on-call engineers to genuine incidents. We design notification routing trees, escalation policies, and integration with incident management tools.

Grafana connects to over 150 data sources. Our engineers configure and optimize connections to Prometheus, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stackdriver, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and custom data sources to build unified dashboards that aggregate telemetry from across your entire technology stack.
